“Blackouts imminent”. Sounds ominous. It’s getting more like Gilligan’s Island up there by the week “No phone, no lights, no motor cars; not a single luxury…” Two rivers burgeoning with runoff but it’s water, water everywhere and nary a drop to drink. Fires and smoke… but at least they won’t have to deal with a hurricane or tsunami.

If you recall, I reported back in the early spring that I heard Quail for the first time since moving here to the city, then eventually saw one or two, and now they are right in our neighbourhood with their new families. The fact that Q and his mermaid friend are on BBS radio does suggest there is something more to the legends we are meant to question. Why would Warsaw, Poland, Copenhagen, Denmark, and Nuuk, Greenland have mermaid sculptures in their harbours if they are mythical creatures? Qincidence?
