Thank you all for your notes and support. My last auntie is gone; passed away peacefully in Kingston after a massive stroke. Not related in any way to the plague. She had heart issues before and was living gingerly as a result; mostly a recluse. Due to severe drug reactions in the distant past she was unable to get vaxxines so it wasn’t that. Repeated mini strokes took their toll.

Now that whole family is reunited again in the non-physical and in joy, but I regret not being able to see her again. Just as I was unable to be with my mother when she passed as I’m here in the US, my cousin was out of Canada travelling and did not get to say goodbye to her mother. Both sisters departed without their daughters’ presence, which seems uncanny.

Last time we spoke my aunt said she was feeling better for the first time in a long time. I thought she might hang in for a med-bed but she would not have been assimilating the next phase of this liberation well, so perhaps it’s better this way. Now I have to find a way to get my mother’s last belongings out of her garage so I have a few things to remember her by. We still have to honour her last wishes and return to the Great White Gulag to do that.
