He attended group therapy with teens accused of rape, when what he really needed was grief therapy to process his mother's death.

Geard's only crime was being a foster child in an era when a surging number of biological parents are falling into the grips of drug addiction and child welfare systems are struggling with a shortage of foster parents. In hasty attempts to address the problem, case workers and courts have been funneling children into crowded emergency shelters, hotels, out-of-state institutions and youth prisons — cold, isolating and often dangerous facilities not built to house innocent children for years.

"And it took me years to track down how to find him."

"Ken and Barbie vs. Goliath IRS": Ken Cromar presently sits in jail having been found guilty of living in his own fully owned home and after proving in a Federal Tax Court that he owed no monies to the IRS. Divine Intervention That Stopped a Potential Suicide:

  John was originally facing the possibility of 424 years for crimes he did not commit.  In fact, like me, he also considers himself a political prisoner, suffering under a corrupt DOJ's "the process is the punishment" approach to "justice" where you're considered GUILTY until you can prove you are INNOCENT while they hold you in jail/prison daring you to try to mount an effective defense while you're suffering under the trauma imposed by their soul crushing confinement.  This is how the DOJ extracts punishment and promotes fear to manufacture the results of a 98% conviction rate.

When John exposed the massive corruption by one of the "three letter agencies" (not named here for his protection), they threatened him with 424 years of prison time!  His future looked impossible.  He was in deep despair.  Then coincidentally, the man in the next cell hung himself.  The body was left hanging in the cell the entire day by the guards for some unknown reason.  This drove him deeper into despair.  Despite his Catholic upbringing which makes suicide a mortal sin, hell seemed a better choice than what he was suffering.

  While at the next prison worship service John sat in the pew and pleaded in silent prayer for God to show him a sign to stop him if that's what God wanted, because otherwise he was "done" with this life and planned to take his own life. Then sunlight came down through a window high on the wall and landed only on John, completely covering his body, but no one else.  He was amazed!  After going up to take communion, he went back to sit but found himself in a different place further down the pew.  He continued to pray for God's inspiration.  Then again, the dark room lit up with the sun shining directly on John and him alone, confirming the first miracle with a second.

John decided not to kill himself and to continue his fight.  Later, after getting some excellent, renowned legal help, all but one of the charges were dropped and he will soon be released and going home!  John believes in miracles now.  God's light has only grown in him and inspired a great hunger for spiritual food.  John has been spiritually "on fire" and asked if we could have gospel discussions three times a day, please, if possible, but it wasn't.  John was on fire.  A beautiful thing to witness a complete change of heart, hunger for spiritual food and a desire to be baptized anew.

  At one of our prayer group meetings John explained how the previous day he had felt attacked by evil spirits.  John was tempted to be panicked, until he remembered how we had discussed that Satan has absolutely no physical power over us, and that he and his evil minion spirits can be easily cast out by simply commanding them to leave in the name of Jesus Christ.  John stood up to the attack by using Christ's name, and the evil spirits departed.  He was amazed how immediately the peace came to him.

  Another night John asked if we could talk about forgiveness; being forgiven because he had "done things I wish I hadn't done during my life" and also had been greatly harmed by people who had deeply hurt him (including those who weaponized fake counts fabricating crimes he did not commit).

Forgiveness was a tough subject for him to confront because of the Matthew 6:14-15 requirement that we must first forgive others, if we hope for God's forgiveness. John desperately wanted God's forgiveness, but realized that if he didn't forgive others, God was telling him that he would not be forgiven.

  Then one night John shared with the group how he had a great breakthrough.  Through much prayer and pondering he had finally discovered feelings for these people he didn't think possible.  John's feelings of anger and betrayal were replaced by charity for his attackers. He marveled at the "great relief" that came over him.  "It's as though these heavy chains that were dragging me down, just dropped from my shoulder.  I felt this genuine forgiveness for those who have harmed me and my wife so deeply I can almost taste heaven."  John felt blessed by God's mercy.

  Our Bible Study group learned how vindication is what God does best.  He does not want our help.  The Lord says, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay." (Deuteronomy 32:35)

  I too continue to misjudge people.  The other night a guy named Justin came in late and was assigned the bunk beside me.  He was acting really ditzy.  I offered to help him get settled, even putting his sheets over his mattress and gave him food he "needed", but that he didn't eat and had to be tossed.  I wasn't impressed and I thought him another useless piece of humanity.

How wrong and judgmental I was.  Later, after Justin accepted my invitation to join our Bible Study group, and there explained that that first night he had come in high on drugs intentionally to numb him to be able to get through the trauma.  Days later he confessed that he considers it a blessing and thanks God he was incarcerated because he was on a collision course headed toward certain death.  He said it was "an intervention" by a loving Heavenly Father.  I misjudged this man.

  Being in prison is rough.  I don't recommend it.  But I've enjoyed being in the service of my fellow prisoners and doing whatever good I can for God's glory and His name's sake. These scriptures have blessed my understanding:
